The 8 rules of getting more done with your meetings...

Most meetings are a waste of time, but they don't have to be if you follow these rules.

If you are in a business or indeed run your own business, meetings with colleagues and staff are a crucial part of communication.

You need to be all singing from the same hymn sheet.

Life is short, so be efficient with your time.

1. As a leader or meeting co-ordinator you should make key decisions BEFORE the meeting
It's your business so YOU control what the meeting is about

2. The purpose of the meeting isn't to make key decisions, it's to coordinate your action plan

3. Start on time, go fast, and have a countdown timer running
Less waffle, no BS, just the facts

4. Only invite people directly involved
You don't have time to waste on people who don't need to know

5. No one can show up who hasn't prepared ahead of time

6. Use the meeting to create an action plan that assigns who's responsible for each action step

7. Don't hold a meeting just to share information.
Email info beforehand in a memo and let people read it on their own time

8. The meeting should be full of lots of brainstorming to mass generate options
Write down and record the ideas..some will hit the mark.
